The last illness of Harvey Baldwin was of such short duration that the news of his passing came as a shock to many of his friends.

Always of a jovial disposition he will be missed by his wide circle of friends and acquaintances.

Harley Alpheus Baldwin, son of Charles and Daisy Baldwin, was born near Akron, Iowa, December 30, 1912.

At the age of nine weeks he moved with his parents to the vicinity of Correctionville, Iowa, and later moved into town. Here he spent his childhood and attended the Correctionville public school.

During these years he was a regular attendant of the Methodist Sunday School.

On February 10, 1930, he went to live with an aunt and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jennings of New Bloomfield, Missouri.

After four years he returned to Correctionville which has since been his home.

Harley suffered with diabetes the last three years but seemed in his usual health until within thirty-six hours of his death.

Saturday morning he was rushed to a Sioux City hospital but continued to fail and passed away at 10 p.m. that evening on January 7, 1939.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Daisy Baldwin of Correctionville, two brothers, Floyd of Storm Lake and Clifford at home, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Baldwin of Akron, Iowa, five uncles, Clifford Law of Correctionville, Oscar and Lloyd Baldwin of Akron, Walter and Clarence Baldwin of Sioux City, three aunts, Mrs. Emma Jennings of New Bloomfield, Minnesota, Mrs. Leona Woolridge of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Mrs. Allurta Waddle of Waubay, South Dakota, and a host of relatives and friends.

His father preceded him in death four years ago.

Funeral services were held at the Wilson-Hull Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. O.E. Schaal, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment was in the Correctionville Cemetery under direction of Wilson-Hull Funeral Home.
