He and Oaka were married in 1936 in Heber City, Utah. They had one son, Karl J. Baese.
For the past 40 years he owned and operated the Lazy K Motel together with his wife, Oaka, until she passed away six years ago. He continued running it up until his death.
He is survived by his son, Karl J. (LaRae) Baese; three grandchildren, Aaron (Brooke) Jolley of Vernal, Scott Baese of Vernal, and Ryan (Teri) Jensen of Monument, Colo.; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Dec. 20 at the Thomson Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
Burial was in the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of the Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
