Services for Oscar E. Runyon, 79, who died Thursday in Richland Memorial Hospital.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Burcham presiding. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery in West Salem.
Memorial can be made to the West Main Street Congregational Christian Church Missionary Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Mr Runyon was born Nov. 14, 1902 in Wayne County, the son of George and Gwendoline M. (Totton) (sic) Runyon. He married Alice Lucinda Knackmuhs April 19, 1929 and she preceded in him death April 6, 1978.
He was a retired laborer, and was affiliated with West Main Congregational Christian Church.
Survivors include four sons, Charles E., Phillipine Islands; Leo, and Donald R., both of Olney; and Richard W. Runyon, Mattoon; two daughters, Evelyn Ahlfield, Olney; and Carrie Rosalie Laughlin, Lawrenceville; a brother, Earl Wayne Runyon, Woodriver; a sister, Mrs. Leo (Catherine) Brown, Olney; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother George.
