WHITE, Francis Marion "Frank" – Pvt. Co I, 18th Texas Cavalry, Darnell's Regiment. He was listed on the original roster of the company made at Dallas on 01 Mar 1862. He was captured at Fort Hindman, Arkansas Post, AR on 11 Jan 1863; POW Camp Douglas, IL Feb 1863, captured at the Battle of Ringgold, GA Nov 1863, POW at Louisville, KY Dec 1863; signed Oath of Allegiance to U.S. Apr 1864, released thereafter. He was born 18 Oct 1828 in White Co, TN; died 17 Sep 1900 Lancaster, TX. His father was Woodson P. White; mother was Nancy Mitchell. He came to TX in 1851 settling in the Lancaster area. Married (1) Martha Jane Gray on 11 May 1853 in Dallas Co. (2) Mattie T. Trigg married in Nov 1870. She was born 5 Dec 1845 in Livingston, AL; died 26 Jun 1920 of cerebral hemorrhage. Her father is unknown of TN; mother was Margaret Barnes Parker. Frank had 8 children – 4 by each marriage. Frank was in the dry goods business and a farmer. Single marker on grave. First wife, Martha Jane, not buried at Edgewood. Mattie's death cert #18938.
