Mr. William C. "DUB" Dougan, of Van Buren(Crawford County), Arkansas, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Mr. Dougan was 87 years, 2 months, and 5 days old. He was the son of the late Tom and Georgia Dougan.
Mr. Dougan was a former employee for AAA Lumber Company (for more than 20 years); before he began his own business. Mr. Dougan retired as an independent businessman, in 1984. He was a charter member of the Friendly Pentecostal Church of God; where he helpd construct that very facility.
Mr. Doudan was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Harvey Paul Dougan; two sisters: Elisabeth Stroffer and Tommie Lee Gree; and a brother: Otis Ray Dougan.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Evan Jo Powell Dougan; two sons: C.E. Dougan and his wife: Ellyne of Van Buren, Arkansas and Roger Dougan and his wife: Jackie, of Mt. Ida, Arkansas; a daughter: Phyllis Long and her husband: Terry of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; a daughter-in-law: Brendan Dougan, of Springdale, Arkansas; a sister: Grace Law, of Van Buren, ARkansas; a brother: Ernest Paul Dougan, of Van Buren; 10 wonderful grandchildren; 13 precious great-grandchildren; a host of family and friends.
Funeral services were held on Friday, January 2, 2009, at the Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren, Arkansas. Rev. Terry Long officiated the services.
Pallbearers were his grandsons: Bryan Dougan, Dwayne Dobbs, Paul Dobbs, Thomas Dougan, Sam Seeger, and Jamie Epperson.
