Violet "Vi" Clark, 78 of Trail, MN died on Friday, January 3, 2003 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2003 at the Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee, MN with Rev. Terry Olson officiating. Burial will follow in the Clearwater Cemetery, rural Oklee, MN.
Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services on Thursday.
Vi was born on July 27, 1924 at rural Trail, MN daughter of the late Stener and Emma (Trydahl) Anderson. She attended country school and graduated from Oklee High School in 1942. During WWII she moved to Pennsylvania and worked as a telephone operator. On October 12, 1945 she was united in marriage to Algernon Clark Sr. at Steelton, Pennsylvania. Following his honorable discharge from the service the couple returned to the family farm near Trail, MN where they have lived and farmed since. Vi was busy raising 10 children, gardening, canning, cooking, baking and quilting.
She is survived by her children Henry (Wilma) Clark of Two Harbors, MN; Timothy (Carolyn) Clark of Elk River, MN; Richard (Carol) Clark of Thief River Falls, MN; Edward (Rhonda) Clark of Elk River, MN; David (Shirley) Clark of Rockford, MN; Nadine (James) Peterson of Coon Rapids, MN; Matthew Clark of Trail, MN and Kathleen (John) Chamberlain of Fergus Falls, MN. Sixteen grandchildren Angie, Nicholas, Alyssa, Olivia, Alison, Samuel, Andrew, Jason, Kelly, Tom, Ashley, Kristin, Roman, Brittany, Nora and Lennon: two great-grandchildren Kevin and Destiny.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Algernon Clark Sr. on July 2, 1993, two sons Algernon Clark Jr. on April 18, 2001 and Mark Clark on April 9, 2001, one granddaughter Sheryl Clark on March 25, 2000 and an infant grandson. Brothers and sisters Ole Anderson, Oscar Anderson, Henry Anderson, Betty Kuball, Selmer Anderson, Arnold Anderson and an infant sister.
