Elmer Wesley Cummings, age 78, of
Joplin passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18,
2009 after a long illness. He will
truly be missed.
Elmer was born on Nov. 17, 1930 in
Joplin. He worked as an insurance
salesman for many years. He was a
member of Mount Hope Church of
Christ.
He married Ila Erisman on Aug 12,
1973. She preceded him in death on
March 30. 1994. He married Iryna
Lakhtikov on May 28, 1999. She survives.
Additional survivors include one
brother, James Cummings and wife,
Carol of Shell Knob. MO.;two sons
Wesley Cummings of California and
Robbi Cummings of Korea; five
step children, Rob, Kay and Dub
Erisman, Anastasia Ewing and Anton
Lakhtikov;17 grandchildren; and
five great grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his loving
parents, Elmer and Laura
Cummings; one sister, Betty Jean
Cummings; and one granddaughter
Sequoia Mist.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m.
at Dice Cemetery in Fairview, MO.
Gary Morrison and Denny Kruse,
Ministers, will officiate. The
family will receive friends from
6 to 7 p.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard
Mortuary & Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, contributions
can be made to the Children's
Miracle Network or the Mount Hope
Church of Christ Library in
memory of Elmer Cummings.
Arrangements are under the
direction of Mason-Woodard
