GRISSOM, Steve Edward Born January 18, 1948, in Monticello, Arkansas. Passed away December 23, 2008, in Los Angeles, California. He was a resident of Palmdale, California and worked as a Proposal Analyst for Lockheed Martin. Steve was a wise and humble student of life. His intellectual and spiritual passions led him to read and write daily. He had an eternal optimism and love of all persons, places, and things. Professionally and scholarly, he earned his MBA and worked at Lockheed for 23 years. He took great pride in always creating a wonderful home or his family. He loved vacations, traveling, music, and working on a plethora of home projects. A few of
his favorite activities included camping, boating, biking, and skiing. He especially enjoyed cruising in his convertible donning one of his many hats. He enjoyed taking classes with his wife to learn old and new dances alike. He enjoyed entertaining his family and friends. He was very spiritual and lived his life according to God's plan to make the world a better place: By promoting love, kindness, and respect to everyone. Survived by his beloved wife Barbara of 40 years; his devoted children, daughter Stacey Lynn and son Lee Jason; grandchildren Erin, Jonathan, and Zachary; brothers Dan, Troy, Jim; mother and father-in-law Harlen and Allie Miller; in-laws Karan, Roy, Jim, Connie, Alan, and Ramona; 8 nieces and 5 nephews; and a countless number of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Houston and Gladys Jewell. Viewing will be held at 1 p.m., with services beginning at 3 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2009, both at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, 808 E. Lancaster Blvd, Lancaster, CA 93535. Military burial will be held at 10:45 a.m., Monday, January 5, 2009, at Riverside National Cemetery, staging area 4.
