Jesse W. O'Quinn, 84, of Fernandina Beach passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at Shands Hospital in Jacksonville. He retired after 22 years with the city of Fernandina Beach. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Normandy, Northern France and the Rhineland, where he received the Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with three Bronze Stars with the 28th Infantry Division. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ruth O'Quinn, a daughter, Kathy (John) Lyle of Yulee and a son, Johnny (Brenda) O'Quinn of Fernandina Beach. He is also survived by six sisters: Eula Mae Stevens, Mary Lou Turner, Lorrine Turner, Betty Johns, Mildred Daniels and Dorothy Daniels six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family received friends Wednesday, Nov. 12 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston, Ga. Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Shepard Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Williams Johns officiating. Interment was in Bachlott Cemetery.Shepard Funeral Home, Folkston, Ga.
