Hubert Cave Daugherty was the son of Hubert C. Daugherty and Mattie Emily Clayton. He was married to Freeda Lea James.Hubert C. Daugherty

HARDY — Hubert Cave Daugherty, 81, of Hardy died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007 at the Fulton County hospital.

He was the son of Hubert and Mattie Daugherty.

He is survived by a son and a daughter, Hubert Daugherty and Nannette Cardenas; three sisters, Betty Jo Halbach, Sarah June Peeples and Dorothy Marie Mas; and one brother, Fred Daugherty.

Hubert grew up in Hardy, learned to love the outdoors and especially fishing. He attended college at Arkansas State University and Georgia Tech and served in the Army and Navy.

He married his college sweetheart, Freeda Lea James of Pocahontas, who preceded him in death.

After a successful career in the pipeline and petroleum processing industry, he retired back to the Hardy area.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. in Hardy United Methodist Church.
