Parents: Michael & Ann Marie Hambright.
Husband of Sarah Perry Fowler.

Hambright. - At his home, in the 3d ward of this city, Sept. 1, 1887, of old age. Mr. William Hambright, aged 85 years 5 months and 7 days.

The deceased was born in Lancaster, Penn., March 24, 1802. He received a good education, and learned the trade of harness maker and carriage trimmer, which occupation he followed in Lancaster and Philadelphia, until 1834, when he moved to Niles, Mich., and there and afterwards in Indiana, continued the same business, in which he was most proficient. At Niles, in Feb., 1838, he married Sarah Fowler, and his faithful life-companion survives him. At the early date of 1842, forty-five years ago, he came to Rochester, Racine Co., Wis., afterwards to Waukesha, and in 1849 he settled in Oak Grove, Dodge Co., where he followed his trade, and was for over 16 years postmaster. In October, 1871, their children all removed, and the infirmities of old age appearing to him, they removed to this city.

He was a gentleman of the old school, a great reader of the events of the day, of fine sensibilities, and never, in any condition of health or surroundings, did he forget his good manners or the feelings of others. He has been quite deaf for several years which naturally retired him from the activities of life, but he has a host of old friends who will mourn his demise. His health has been greatly impaired all summer, but no particular disease was apparent. Of him in life, it can be truthfully said that the world is better by his having lived in it; and in his death, a truly good husband and father goes to his reward.

Besides his wife, ten children survive, to cherish his love and memory - Mrs. Scott McGlasson, Hutchinson, Kansas; Mrs. G. S. Woodard, of Appleton, Wis.,; Mrs. Eugene Goeldner, Watertown, Wis.; Chas. M. Hambright, of Racine, Wis.; Wm. D. and Frank Hambright, Mrs. G. W. Chandler, Mrs. F. F. Congdon, Mrs. A. T. Keysar, Mrs. Thos. Hughes, of this city [Beaver Dam].

The funeral occurs from his late residence tomorrow, at 1 P.M., and burial at Oak Grove.
