Kahim attended Indiana Ave. School, Chelsea Jr. High, and Atlantic City High School. During his years in high school, he played varsity football for the Atlantic City Vikings. He was also a drummer for the Neptune Drum and Bugle Corps.
He was employed for several years at Trump Taj Mahal Casino.
In the days preceding his death, Kahim's greatest concern was for the well being of his only son, "Lil" Kahim, who he loved with all of his heart.
Besides his work, Kahim enjoyed music, playing basketball, wrestling, and raising fish in his aquarium.
