ANDERSON, Charles Franklin " Age 72, passed away Monday, January 12, 2004, at his home in Glide, Oregon. He was born on July 25, 1931, in West Sweden, Wisconsin, to Charles and Georgena (Christensen) Anderson. Charles was unable to finish the eighth grade due to his father's heart attack which forced him to leave school and work on the family farm.
On June 21, 1957, Charles married Karen Cross in Ukiah, California. They spent their honeymoon driving a Civil Defense Bus, filled with radio equipment down to Selma, California, for a Civil Defense Test.
Besides farming, he worked in a mill, as a fireman, garbage collection, truck serviceman, and a diesel mechanic. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, scroll-saw work, shade-tree mechanic, and care giving to his wife, Karen.
They moved to Glide, Oregon in May of 1994. Charles was a member of the Glide Baptist Church and a retired member of California's Fireman Association.
Charles is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen Anderson of Glide; children, Dora and her husband, Wayne Briley of Ukiah; Timothy and his wife, Nancy Anderson of Ukiah; Patrick Anderson of Redwood Valley, California; sister, Lillian Frances Steele of Santa Rosa, California; five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Anderson; sister, Rosella Anderson; half-brothers, Harold and Earl Severson; half-sister, Esther Severson, and a grandson, Jeremiah Anderson.
Private interment will be held in the grounds of Wimberly Cemetery.
