Son of Mollie Scruggs and Richard Brittain. Married (1) Mary Elizabeth Loving on December 29, 1901; (2) Zula Lee Dean on June 12, 1922; and (3) Era Porter on June 3, 1931.

In 1930 Angus Brittain was a widower. Living with him were his children: Margaret, 20; Doyle, 14; Norris E., 6; and William T., 2.

NOTE: His middle name is given as Griffin on both his WW I and WW II Draft Registration Cards. In 1942 he was 63 years old, 5'-9" tall, 132 lbs., blue eyes, gray hair, ruddy complexion.

Augus [sic] G. Brittain
CENTER, Tex. — Funeral services for Angus Gus Brittain, 93, were held at 10 a.m. today in the Bartle Funeral Home with the Rev. P. E. Walton officiating. Burial was in the Patroon Cemetery.
Mr. Brittain died Tuesday.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Jewel Brittain of Center, Doyle Brittain of Sandi, Norris Brittain of Ogden, Utah and Billy Brittain of Pasadena; three stepsons, Thurman Dean, Roy Porter and Preston Porter, all of Pasadena; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Leiderbrand of Alamogorde [sic], N. M., and Mrs. Mollie Braden of Atlanta, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Sanford of Joaquin and Mrs. Iris Dean of Washington; 28 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
