George Wait, resident of Chrisman for 16 years, died at 6 o'clock Sunday evening at his home here after several weeks illness. Until a few days ago, he was a patient in a Danville hospital.

He was born in Ohio on March 9, 1856, a son of James and Ann Wilcox Wait. He is survived by his widow, Margaret, and seven children, as follows: Bert, Robinson; Bessie Wait and Mrs. Leola Swerly, both of West Union; Mrs. Grace Brubaker of Terre Haute; Arthur, Claud and Mrs. Eva Fleetwood, Chrisman. Four children are deceased. There are also twenty-one grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Mollie Myers of Old York.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Scott & Schuleter funeral home, with the Rev. L. M. Sutton officiating. Interment at Hoult cemetery. Mr. Wait was a member of the Chrisman M. E. church.
