DIED SUDDENLY SUNDAY
Mrs. Madeline Bush Passed away in Fulton after Several Hours Illness
Mrs. Madeline Bush, 69 years old, mother of Prof. J. T. Bush, city superintendent of the Fulton public schools, died suddenly at her home on East Sixth street 10:30 o'clock, Sunday night, of apoplexy. Mrs. Bush had been
suffering several days with a slight attack of la grippe, but her condition was not regarded at all serious and the sudden attack of apoplexy that overtook her at 6:30 o'clock, just four hours before her death, came as big surprise, and her death was a distinct shock to the members of her family and other friends and relatives.
Mrs. Bush, whose maiden name was Madeline Findley, was born at Marthasville, Warren county, on April 28, 1848, and last Saturday marked the 69th anniversary of her birth, her death occurring just one day later. Mrs. Bush was a daughter of Milton and Mary Findley, who came to Callaway county when she was a girl and settled on a farm in the south part of the Kingdom.
She was married in Callaway county, February 27, 1865, to J. T. Bush, Sr. who preceded her in death a good many years ago. They lived on a farm near Bakersville, on the Missouri river, practically their entire married life. Mrs. Bush had resided in Fulton about 15 years. She was a kind, motherly woman, who endeared herself into the hearts of her friends and acquaintances, by her simple, affectionate ways. She was loving mother and a true neighbor and her passing takes one of Fulton's truly good women, Mrs. Bush was a member of the Methodist church and took an active interest in all the affairs of that congregation.
Surviving her are the following sons and daughters: Prof. Ernest F. Bush, superintendent of the Wellston public schools, William H. Bush, south of Fulton, Mrs. Rose D. Bills, of Wainwright, Prof. J. T. Bush and Miss Madeline Bush of Fulton. Seven children were born to Mr. And Mrs. Bush, one daughter, dying in infancy and one son, Arthur N. Bush in later life.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock, Tuesday by the Rev. W. L. Scazrborough. Active pallbearers are Charles Miller, Boyd McKiney, L. L. Collett, T. W. Jackson, B. B. Gillman and Millard Thurston, while the honorary pallbearers are Rev. George Castle, B. A. James, O. W. McCracikin, W. E. Gooldy, J. T. Woolery and R. G. Hale.
