Son of Jeremiah Kinsman (1725-1818) and Sarah Harris of Ipswich, Massachusetts. Baptized by Reverend John Cleveland of Essex on May 4, 1764. William married Anna Brown, the daughter of Lieutenant Jacob Brown and Anna Quarles. He enlisted in Captain Parker's Company of Newburyport, Colonel Moses Little's Regiment, and was in the Battle of Bunker Hill. Afterwards, he was a Revolutionary War pensioner. He died at the age of 91 leaving a Will that was dated Dec. 20, 1827. At the time of William's death, his descendants were more than one hundred in number.
