Funeral Services for Mr. Prather are scheduled for Monday, December 19th at 10 am at James Webb Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be officiated by Rev. Davey Wilkinson, and Rev. Jimmy Whitaker.
Burial will be in Lauderdale Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ray Prather, 84, of Meridian, died Friday, December 26, 2008 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Prather was employed with MS Power/ Plant Sweatt for 30 years. He was an Army Veteran, member of Popular Springs Baptist Church, and IBEW Member. Mr. Prather was a member of Masonic Lodge #507 and owner of Prather Appliance Service for 45 years. He will be remembered as a man who loved his family and always made sure they were taken care of. He always had a smile on his face. He was a very giving man who never met a stranger and had many close and lifelong friends. He had a servant's heart.
Survivors include his Wife, Muriel Moorman Prather of Meridian; Daughter, Carol Prather Sparks of Meridian; Son, David Paul Prather and wife Pamela of Meridian; Daughter-in-law, Pamela Wadsworth Prather of Meridian; Sister-in-law, Velma Prather of Baldwyn, MS; Grandson, Christopher Lee Cornett and wife Tammy of Bailey, MS; Granddaughter, Keating Elizabeth Prather of Meridian; Great Grand Daughter, Olivia Grace Cornett of Meridian; Great Grandson, Cooper Hayes Cornett of Meridian. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
