Harry was born to William Andrew McCoy and Lillian May McCoy (nee Davis) in 1927. He had three brothers: Samuel William ("Sam", 1923-2009), William Alexander ("Bill", 1932-2014), and Ronald Charles ("Ronnie", 1936-1945). Harry passed away in the ambulance on the way to Sarnia Hospital (Lambton County).
