Mrs. Smith, 42, of Knoxville, died Thursday, December 4, 2008. Funeral service was Sunday, December 7, 2008, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, Charlie McNutt of Sevier Heights Baptist Church officiated. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery. She was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, the youngest daughter of Herchel Perdue of Linden, who survives, and the late Mary Anne Godwin Perdue. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Tom & Mary Sharp Godwin, and William & Sally Perdue of Portland. She was a member of First Christian Church. Survivors also include; huband, Gary Smith, two sisters, Melanie Perdue Pace and her children, Carter and Mary Rachel of Linden, and Sharon Perdue (Dr. Stan) Whitley and their children Anna and Jordan of Covington; her mother-in-law, Katie Smith; a sister-in-law, Monika Smith (Henry) Bowman and a brother-in-law, Ralph Smith of California.
