Gladys was a resident of Friendsville prior to her passing in Oakland, Md.
She was a daughter of the late Walter Franklin and Alice Estella (Umbel) Humberson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Merle D. Frantz; one son, Jack Frantz; one granddaughter, Gina Freeman; two brothers, Hiram and Ralph Humberson; and four sisters, Buena Vista Humberson, Lavonna Lowdermilk, Effie Vanhorn, and Evelyn Friend.
She was a member of Blooming Rose United Methodist Church. She worked for the American Red Cross during WWII, making bandages for the soldiers overseas. She also worked after the war to obtain donations to support the Red Cross.
She is survived by one daughter; three sisters; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.
