The Chico Enterprise-Record (Chico, California) 10 Aug 1960, Wednesday Page 3: Mrs. Carrie Anderson, who had made her home in Chico for a number of years, died early today at Taylor’s Nursing Home.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Portland, Ore., on Dec. 24, 1861, and lived there until moving to Chico as a young woman.
On April 28, 1889, she and Robert A. Anderson were married at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in San Francisco and established their home on a ranch north of Chico. Mr. Anderson was once sheriff of Butte County, having been elected in 1888 and serving for two terms.
Mrs. Anderson, who had been widowed since the death of her husband din 1915, is survived by a stepson, Charles P. Anderson of Chico, a grandson, Volney Anderson, also of Chico, and two great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Merle R. Anderson of Chico.
Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel of the Brusie Funeral Home Friday at 10 a.m., and interment will be in the Chico Cemetery.
