She was born on June 6, 1927 in Dykes, Kentucky, the daughter of the late George Lewis and Dora Dykes Baker. She was a self-employed residential housekeeper and a member of the Friendship Methodist Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren, gospel music and singing, and cooking.
She was survived by a son, Charles "Bimbo" Mounce of the White Lily community in Pulaski County, Kentucky; four daughters, Lula "Lou" Marie (and Dale) Taylor of Ruth, Kentucky, Charlene (and Jimmy) Muncy of Somerset, Kentucky, Doris (and Denny) Tomlinson of the White Lily community, and Debbie Woodall of the White Lily community; two sisters, Ina Mounce of Somerset, Kentucky and Bertie Bray of Mt. Victory, Kentucky; ten grandchildren, Angel (and James Ray) Hinkle, Jamie (and Mark) Brown, Chris Tomlinson, Brian Tomlinson, Dustin Tomlinson, Shannon (and Tina) Woodall, Trina (and Waylon) Rader, Adam Mounce, Jesse Mounce, and Sheila Toney; seven great grandchildren, Nicholas Taylor, Logan Hinkle, Jordan Hinkle, Kendra Toney, Katrina Toney, Kaylon Rader, and John Marshall Mounce.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Charles Mounce, whom she married on June 3, 1947 in Pulaski County, Kentucky; a son, George Sigmond Mounce; six brothers, Bill, Clinton, Frank, Dewey, Sid, and Everett Baker; four sisters, Mary Hargis, Maydell Meece, Sara Alexander, and Fern Baker; a daughter-in-law, Denise Mounce; a son-in-law, Mike Woodall; and a grandson, David Taylor.
Visitations were held on Sunday, December 28th at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral Services were held on Monday, December 29th at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Donovan Smith and Bro. Jim Molden officiating. Burial followed in the Malvin Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Somerset, Kentucky.
