Celessa was born Nov. 20, 1977 in Topeka, the daughter of Kevin and Delene Hafner Van Sickel. She lived in the Dallas area for 14 years. Celessa graduated from Hayden High in 1996 and earned an associate degree in General Studies from Washburn University. She was a member of Campus Ministry at Washburn.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Delene Van Sickel; her sister, Aubrey Van Sickel, Topeka; her brother, Nicholas Van Sickel, Austin; maternal grandfather, Raymond Hafner and his wife, Pearl, Topeka; paternal grandmother, Patricia Van Sickel, Topeka; and a niece, Sierra Van Sickel, Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kevin Van Sickel and sister, Brianna.
Family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thurs. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be prayed at 6:30.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Fri. at Mater Dei Holy Name Church.
Burial will follow in Rochester Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Huntington's Disease Society of America and Hereditary Neurological Disease Center sent in care of the funeral home.
