ALTENBURG, Mo. — Norman G. Oehlert, 74, of Altenburg died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at Hunter Acres in Sikeston, Mo.

He was born May 20, 1934, in Altenburg, son of George C. and Lena Hemmann Oehlert.


Oehlert retired from East Perry Lumber Co. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg.


Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Whalen of Valley Park, Mo., Katherine Oehlert of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; three sisters, Bernice Huntsman of Arvada, Colo., Mary Ann Pledger of Cape Girardeau, Lula Mae Ziegler of Ferguson, Mo.; and six grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.


Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Jan. 2 and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Jan. 3 at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.


The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 3 at Immanuel Church, with the Rev. Jonathan Stites officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
