Maxine Barnes, 73, of Osceola died Nov. 12, 2002, at her home in Osceola.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was born July 17, 1929, in Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Barnes.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Barnes of Etowah and Donald Barnes of Oil Trough; two daughters, Sheila Bryan of Etowah and Brenda Whitlow of Edwardsburg, Mich.; three sisters, Ester Ambrose of St. Charles, Ill., Vivian Barnett of Springfield, Mo., and Della Barnett of El Cajon, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Nov. 15 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Osceola. The Rev. Rickey Blackwell officiated the ceremony. Burial was at Mississippi County Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Active pallbearers were her grandsons.
