William Isom Abel, 72, of Dexter, MO, died Jan. 27, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare.
Born Sept. 24, 1929, in Nauvoo, AL, son of the late Annas Clifford and Annar Kellon Abel, he was a welder with Pullman Standard.
Survivors include: one son, William Dale Abel; two daughters, Gail Walker and Linda Upton; one brother, James Abel; three sisters, Essie Gainey, Volora Ann Boshell and Magdaline Youcum; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Charlene Atchley, Loriene Youcum and Eva Mae Abel.
Services were conducted at the Collins-Burke Funeral Chapel in Jasper, AL.
Burial followed in the Pisgah Cemetery at Carbon Hill.
