Frostburg,Maryland --- Martin J. Bahen, 86, formerly of 14 Washington St., Frostburg, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home.

Born on Aug. 24, 1913, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Nolan) Bahen. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Bahen was retired after 44 years with the Celanese Corp. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church. He was a member of K of C Council 1442 and the Haystack Mt. Sportsmen's Club.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Alice (James) Bahen; one daughter, Florence Haselberger and husband Francis, West Mifflin, Pa.; two sons, Jack Bahen and wife Catherine, Aiken, S.C., and Edward Bahen and wife Sally, Waldorf, Md.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The Knights of Columbus Council #1442 will conduct a Christian Wake service at the funeral home on Sunday at 8:30 p.m.

Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church with the Rev. Father William E. Moody serving as celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery.
