Trammell Rites Conducted
Rufus Lee Trammell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Trammell of Thorn, Miss., died in the Houston Hospital June 2 after having been sick a short time.
His death followed an accident in which he suffered a fractured leg. He recovered sufficiently to be carried home and then developed pneumonia. His sudden death was a great shock to relatives and friends.
Interment was in Asbury cemetery following funeral services in the Van Vleet Baptist Church with the Rev. H M Collins officiating. Pallbearers were: Morgan Sisk, George E Winter, Walter G Cole, Earnest A Murphree of Houston and Wilburn Collums, Shelbert S Seals of Algoma, Miss.
Mr. Trammell was married to Miss Garnett Park 11 years ago and had made Van Vleet his home since that time. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by two brothers, Johnnie M., of Thorn, and Raymond H. of Bogalusa, La., and one sister, Mrs. Curtis Spencer of Thorn.
He was 37 years of age at the time of his death and had resided in Chickasaw County all of his life, where he commanded the respect of all who knew him.
