Homer Allen Hall, 95, of Everett, died in peace on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008.
He was born Jan. 16, 1913, in Hopewell Township, a son of the late James Benjamin Hall and Maude (Snyder) Hall.
On Feb. 4, 1939, he married Evelyn Mary (Sweitzer) Hall, his wife of 69 years, who survives along with their six children: Maynard Allen Hall and Judy Robinette, of Bedford; James Dale Hall, Sr. of Everett; Mary Evelyn Hall Miller, and husband, R. Dale Miller, Jr., of Carlisle; Joyce Hall Shoffner, of Dallastown; Cheryl Susan Hall Henderson, and husband, Gary Henderson, of Carlisle; Debra Louise Hall Dunkle, and husband, Kirk Dunkle, of Everett; 10 grandchildren: Bryan, James and Allen Hall, Brooke Wade and Brent Shoffner, Julie and Ryan Henderson, Chelsea Dunkle, Lynn and Lyle Miller; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in passing away by two brothers: Roger Hall and Guy Hall.
Mr. Hall was a member of the Bethel Church of the Brethren, where he helped to clear land for the church cemetery and milled the wood to build the church Sunday school classrooms.
He was a graduate of the Robert P. Smith School, Class of 1933, and all his life, he was a farmer at his Everett dairy and poultry farm, and was recognized by the State of Pennsylvania for his perfect lifetime voting record. Homer was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at 11a.m. in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev. H. Lee Ritchey and Rev. Harry Knisely officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
Burial will be held at Bethel Brethren Cemetery.
If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Hall to the Bethel Church of the Brethren, 1634 East Cypher Road, Hopewell, PA 16650.
