VENNEBERG

Mrs. Effie Kroth Venneberg, 64, of Holton, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23rd. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Bucks Grove Church, with burial in Bucks Grove cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Venneberg of the home; four sons, Paul and Lloyd Venneberg of Havensville, Claude Venneberg of Denver, and Clyde Venneberg of Solomon; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Wind of Manitou Springs, Colo., Mrs Mary Fletchell of Sabetha, and Mrs. Beth Davis of Topeka; two brothers, Walter Kroth of Holton and Ralph Kroth of Detroit, Mich.; three sisters, Miss Bertha Kroth of Holton, Mrs. Esther Clements of Hennessey, Okla., and Mrs. Stella Manuel of Holton and 13 grandchildren.

Obit. of Effie Elsie Venneberg, second child of Charles E. and Margaret Nicholas Kroth. She grew up in the Bucks Grove Community and the Church, later teaching several terms of school in rural districts.
She m. 15 Nov 1911 to Arthur Venneberg. They lived on the home place at Bucks Grove until their recent move to Holton two years ago. Eight ch., Paul, Lowell, Claude, Mildred, Clyde, Lloyd, Mary,and Beth were born there. Also surviving are two bros. Walter Kroth of Holton and Ralph Kroth of Detroit, MI, and three sisters, Bertha Kroth, Stella Manuel of Holton and Mrs. Esther Clements of Hennessey, OK.
She accepted Christ as her savior, in her girlhood and has been a faithful member of the Bucks Grove Church and an earnest worker in her church for a half century.
On coming to Holton, she, with her husband, transferred their membership to the First Methodist Church of Holton.
She will be sadly missed by her relatives, her many friends at the Grove, and judging from the constant calls and inquiries of her well being, these past weeks, we feel she had made a host of friends in her home at Holton. She was a wonderful wife and mother.
Of her it can be said "She had a motherly heart", and 'twas a great joy for her to be with or care for the grandchildren, which number thirteen. She being granted the privilege to see the tiniest one, Nancy Ann venneberg at the age of only two weeks.
Memorial services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday Aug 27 at the Bucks Grove cemetery.
