Funeral services will be held Friday, September 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at First Pentecostal Church in Melville for Charles Adams, age 68, who passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at his residence in Melville.
Interment will be in First Pentecostal Cemetery. The Rev. Ray Majors, pastor of First Pentecostal Church, will officiate at the services.

Mr. Adams was a native and lifelong resident of Melville. He retired with AT&T as a Technician after 32 years of service. Mr. Adams was a parishioner of First Pentecostal Church in Melville and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a perfect husband and a loving father, grandfather, special friend, and loved by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Sarah Adams of Melville; a son, Brent Randal Adams and his wife Traci of Port Barre; two brothers, Gary Adams and his wife Carolyn of Denham Springs and George Dennis Adams of Melville; two sisters, Loyce Boudreaux of Melville, Vickie Farah Devillier and her husband J.D. of Krotz Springs; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Prince Adams and the former Grace Dupre; a son, Brian Keith Adams; a brother, Ronald Adams; a sister, Shelia Adams; and two grandchildren.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Thursday and from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at First Pentecostal Church in Melville.

Pallbearers will be Cody Adams, Rocky Clark, Landon Tillman, Durand Eaves, Charles Lane Adams, and Derrick Milton Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Randal Adams Jr., Sarah LeAnn Adams, and Jody Adams Clark.

Melancon Funeral Home of Opelousas, 4708 I-49 North Service Rd, Opelousas, (337-407-1907), is in charge of arrangements.
