Born June 29, 1954, in Parma, son of the late Burl and Maude Maye Davis Smith, he lived in the Dexter and Essex communities all his life and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Dexter. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include: three daughters, Tammy James and Constance Smith and Cheryl Smith; five brothers, Fred Smith, Jonia Ray Smith, Lloyd Smith, A.J. Hart, and Floyd Smith; four sisters, Faye True, Edith Frazier, Jean Burnett and Martha Jane Keys; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Melissa Stewart; four brothers, George Hart, R.C. Smith, Burley Smith and David Allen Smith; and two sisters, Essie Carter and Jewell Dean Smith.
Services conducted at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Gerald Beem of Dexter, officiating.
Burial followed in the Dudley Cemetery.
