Longtime Asher resident Lloyd L. Sanders, 86, died Sunday at a local hospital. The son of Thomas Garrett Sanders and Laura Bessie Davis Sanders was born in Tribbey on November 20, 1914.

He was a member of the Avoca Church of Christ.

On July 6, 1933, he married Ethel E. Chambers in Macomb. She preceded him in death December 5, 2000. Mr. Sanders was president of Sanders Laboratory and was a rancher.

He also was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and LaVon Sanders of Tecumseh, daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie and Clinton Palmer of Maud, Towana and Harold Gober of Bethel Acres and Linda and Marion Milburn of Tecumseh, brother, Jack Sanders of Pearson, sister, Aleta Pettit of Pearson, fourteen grandchildren, thirty six great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Avoca Church of Christ in Asher. Dallas Barnes will officiate. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Knight Funeral Home in Maud.
