Alexander Trent Moseley was born at "Rose Cottage", now known as "Rose Terrace" (owned by the Bruce family in the 1970's), to distinguish it from "Rose Cottage" where Gen. Robert E. Lee camped on his way to Appomattox (it has subsequently burned down). The birthplace is given by his daughter Florence (Moseley) Pratt. It is directly across U.S. Route 60, in Buckingham Court House from "Trenton" which Alexander Trent Moseley owned, lived and died in.
He and Maria Louise Housewright were married in Buckingham Court House by the Rev. John Spencer. He was buried circa 11 May 1891 at Maysville Presbyterian Church, Buckingham, Buckingham Co., VA.
