North Manchester- Raymond E. Price passed away today June, 3, 2000 at Peabody retirement home North Manchester.

Born in a log cabin, about 1 mile east of the Ijamsvill church, to John C. (John Price JR) & Emma Marie (Thompson) Price. He used to ride his horse Cory to the Laketon school. After he married he lived in Laketon with his parents for a short time before moving to N.Manchester. On Oct. 25, 1934 in Laketon, Ind., he married Marjorie Evelyn Bashore. Lived his life mostly in N.Manchester living many years at 108 S. Maple street. He was a handyman, did carpentry, fixed whatever needed fixed.

He attended the Church of the Nazarene in N. Manchester and Warsaw. Bing worked at Peabody seating for 38 years as a welder and ran an automatic sheet metal shear. He retired in 1980 . He liked to fish, swim, hunt and mushroom hunting. Used to rent a cottage up north at the lakes in the summer. Liked to take home movies, slides and family pictures. After his wife died he married Mary Helen Spangle. After she passed away, he moved to Warsaw living in a trailer court for a few years, but having various health problems moved back to Manchester living his last years in Peabody home in N. Manchester.

Had been having pneunomia and doctors failed to give him adequate dosage of antibiotic to cure it and he steadily went downhill. He remained active to the end until he had a heart attack. Surviving are his 5 children; Patricia J. (Bob)Parson, Wabash, John L. (Sherry), N.Manchester, Roger L. (Shirley), Marion, Michael L. (Connie), Wabash; Randy A. (Jennifer), Warsaw,IN. Two brothers, Don Price (Josephine) of Laketon, and Carl Price (Wilda) of N.Manchester, and two sisters preceded him in death, Hilda & Mable of Laketon,IN, 12 grandchildren. He died from various illnesses. He had leukemia and heart trouble.
