Naomi Blazek, the daughter of Dr. B. and Edith Besso Fisher, was born Sept. 12 1900 in Creston Iowa, and passed away June 27, 1981 at the Greater Community Hospital Creston, at the age of 80years, 9 months and 15 days.

She was united in marriage March 8, 1922 to Charles Blazek in Creston, Iowa. To this union was born three sons and four daughters. Their life together was spent on the farm at rural Prescott.

She was a member of the Methodist Church. Though not active in the church, her quiet faith remained very strong in later years, reciting the complete bible was her comfort. Through the years of weakness and pain, her thoughts were always for others.

She was a charter member of the Williamson American Legion Auxiliary where she held the office of vice president in 60-61 and 64-66, secretary 62-63, president in 68-69, and was child welfare chairman from 1965 until 1977.

She will long be remembered for all the handmade work she has done and given away, including a crocheted afghan for each child, grandchild and great grandchild.

Survivors include her husband, Charles; daughters, Mrs. Clarine Morris of Des Moines; Betty Maeder and husband, Earl of rural Creston; Coleen Reha and husband, Richard, of Omaha, Nebr.; one son, Edward and wife Marilyn, of Prescott; a sister, Edith York and husband, Herman of Bisbee, Ariz.; a grandson, Ronald, who was reared in their home; 18 other grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Also missing her will be Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Victor and Fred and a son-in-law Vern Maeder.

She was preceded in death by Charles Jr. and his wife Margaret; a son, LeRoy; a daughter, Barbara Maeder; son-in-law, Stanley Morris; and two grandchildren, Mike and Angela Maeder; brothers, Bernard and B. Paul, and her parents.

Funeral services were held at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Creston June 29 at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. K. Wayne Hoehns. Burial was in the Bohemian National Cemetery near Williamson. The Williamson American Legion Auxiliary led a prayer during committal services.

Music was furnished by a grandson, Mark Maeder, vocalist, accompanied by his wife, Patty Maeder. Casket bearers were grandsons, Ronald Blazek, Scott and Steve Blazek, Richard Reha, Roy and Bert Maeder and Fred Victor.
