James D. Sprouse, 81, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2007. Mr. Sprouse served his country proudly during World War II in the U.S. Marines. He was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Julie and Christine Peace.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Margaret Sprouse; his daughters, Barbara Soyars, Betty Staton (Ernest), and Brenda Peace (Blair); eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, 2 p.m., in Maury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Patterson Avenue Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3901 Patterson Ave., Richmond, Va. 23221, where he was a member. Arrangements by Bliley's-Chippenham.
