CARL DAVIS, 80
Carl Richard Davis, 80, of 3464 W. Hwy. 36, Modoc, died at 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000 at his residence.
He was born in Union City, Ind., to the late Anderson and Edith Cantrell Davis. A 1937 graduate of Union City High School, Davis served in the US Army during WWII. He married Doris E. Trenton, Sept. 29, 1945. Davis retired from Trans American Freight Lines in 1976. He was a member of Sugar Grove Church of Christ, American Legion, Orville N. Stover Post 158 and VFW Post 7084.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Davis of Parker City; four sisters, Agnes (husband John) Stayton of Lawrence, Esther (husband Glen) Starbuck of Richmond, Shirma Pence of Bradford, Ohio, and Beverly Wade of Gulf Port, Miss.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Alva Raymond, Lloyd Davis and Donald Davis; and two sisters, Elsie Howard and Vera Eichhorn.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. today at Thomas Funeral Home, Lynn. Burial is at Lisbon Cemetery, Union City, Ind.
