Charles Morgenthaler, 89, of Maroa, died at 1:07 p.m. Saturday in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Maroa, where friends may call after 5 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Oreana.
Mr. Morgenthaler was born in Perry County, a son of Jacob and Eliza Ann Huggins Morgenthaler. He was a retired farmer.
He married Emma Edith Dry on October 15, 1905, in Du Quoin, IL. She died on May 1, 1953.
He leaves daughters, Gertrude Morgenthaler of Maroa; Mrs. Emerson (Beulah) Wert of Hammond; son, Lester of Phoenix, AZ.; sisters, Mrs. Freeman (Nellie) King of Murphysboro; Mrs. Alijah (Margaret) Queen of Du Quoin; seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Ora Marie, and one son preceded him in death.
