He married Ruth Alice Carlile on July 23, 1955.in Nueces County, Texas. The marriage was officiated by Rev. S.T. Carlile who was the pastor of the First Baptist Church, Benbrook, Texas. She passed away in 1966.
He married Helen Joyce Heintz on September 8, 1966 in Nueces County, Texas. Ora and Helen had 3 children.
Left to mourn his death was his wife; son, Nathan Reed Barchenger; daughter, Helen Jean Barchenger; 2 brothers, William "Bruno" Barchenger and Amos Barchenger; and sister, Alice (Homer) King.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Clara Martha (Rueffer) Barchenger; wife, Ruth Alice Barchenger; infant son, Matthew Mark Barchenger; 5 brothers, Edwin Barchenger, Victor Barchenger, Arnold Barchenger, Willis Barchenger and Walter Barchenger (infant); and infant sister, Janet Barchenger.
Burial took place on January 26, 1990.
