The death of Franz Habermann, one of the old and respected citizens of the Olmitz neighborhood, occurred in this city today where he had been brought for treatment. For the last four months he had undergone treatment here for some time and returned home a few weeks ago, well on the road to recovery, it was thought. A couple of weeks ago he became worse and was brought back to this city. Last night his condition was such that the family were told the end might be expected at any time. He suffered from rheumatism.
Mr. Haberman was born in Austria, and leaves two brothers and a sister, in that country. Another brother, John , lives at Olmitz. Mr. Habermann, who was 75 years of age, came to this country about 40 years ago, coming direct to Barton county, and locating on the farm which has since been his home and where for the last few years he lived with his son, John, and family, his wife having died about six years ago. He leaves to mourn his death, besides the relatives above named, five sons, Frank, north of Great Bend, Joe, John, Henry and Antone, and four daughters, Mrs. Anne Weiser, Mrs. Mary Mauler, north of Hoisington, Mrs. Anton Schenk and Mrs. Amilia Budig, all of the Olmitz neighborhood.
