Retired Abilene Stone Cutter Dies

James Wesley WILLIS, 73, of 283 Pecan St., retired stone cutter, died Saturday night in Hendrick Memorial Hospital, where he was admitted last Tuesday, suffering with pneumonia. He had been ill about a month of a heart ailment.

Mr. WILLIS, a bachelor, had worked for the C. M. Tandy Monument Co. for many years before his retirement. He was born May 8, 1878, in Elizabeth Town, Ill., and came to Abilene when 4.

Only survivor is a sister, Mrs. Ann McCLELLAN of Baird.

Funeral services are set at 4 p.m. Sunday at Elliott's Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. L. T. GRANTHAM, pastor of the Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
