Obituary - Jewell Cowley Sheffield, 63, formerly of Salt Lake City, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 1990 at the Glendale Adventist Hospital of Leukemia.

Born March 2, 1926 in Salt Lake City, daughter of Matthew and Elva Taylor Cowley. Married Val J. Sheffield on January 8, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She lived in Salt Lake until the age of 11, when she went with her parents to preside over the New Zealand Mission. she served as theology teacher for 17 years in the Salt Lake 17th Ward; served as Young Womens President; was currently serving as first counselor in the Glendale 4th Ward Relief Society. She served as president of the Salt Lake Classic Club, and was currently serving as Captain of the Glendale Chapter of the D.U.P.

Survived by husband, Glendale; children, Karen Sheffield Morgan and husband William W. Morgan, West Hills, California; Dr. Val Cowley Sheffield and wife, Kristin, Burlingame, Calif.; Matthew Cowley Sheffield and wife, Linda, Glendale, Calif.; Lane Cowley Sheffield, Canoga Park, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; brother, Toni Cowley, Melbourne, Australia.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday in the Glendale 4th Ward Chapel, where her husband is currently serving as Bishop.

Local Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main Street, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.

Interment: Kaysville City Cemetery.
