Joe E. Mirabal, 83, a native of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully Monday, September 1, 2008.

He is survived by his children, John Mirabal, Stan Mirabal and wife, Mary; step-children, LeRoy Barncastle, Irene Cox and husband, Miller Dean, Lorraine Verhest and husband, Joe; daughter-in-law, Pam Barncastle; sister, Emma Alderette; grandchildren, Darren, Desiree, Denise, John, Frank, Michelle, Alicia, Lynn, John, Marlene, Christopher, Tami, David, Darren, Dean, Deanne and Desiree; 24 great grandchildren and several other extended family and friends, He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Adeline "Lena" Mirabal; step-son, Rudolph Barncastle; parents: Andres and Aurelia Baca Mirabal; sisters: Lugardita Mirabal, Delfina Mirabal and Erlinda Aragon; and brothers: Andres Mirabal Jr,. Manuel Mirabal and Odelio Mirabal.

Joe dedicated 31 years of service to the gas company of New Mexico and retired August 1986. He was a devoted and loving husband , father and grandfather. Joe was a Navy veteran of WWII from Mar '43 to Apr '46.
