Mrs. Elsie Larue (Knepp) Shinafelt died at 8.22 p.m. yesterday, after a lengthy illness. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Clair Beatty of 427 1st Ave. She was born at Upper Reese April 16, 1881, a daughter of Martin and Sarah (Reed) Knepp, and on March 15, 1905, in Hollidaysburg, married James B. Shinafelt, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are eight children, Charles of Hollidaysburg RD, Edgar B. of Plattsburg, N.Y., Mrs. Glenn H. Mattern and Alvin H. of Canoe Creek, Mrs. Alma Beatty and Merrill W. of the city, Mrs. Lucille Sigrist of Berlin, N.J., and Chester C. of Sharon; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Arthur of Bellwood.

She was a member of the Canoe Creek Methodist Church, Dames of Malta, B. of L. F. & E. Auxiliary, the Wolf Chapter of War Mothers and the Daughters of America. Friends will be received at the Scaglione Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today.

Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.
