Bill served his family as a fine role model. He was a man of God, serving as provider and protector of his family. Bill had a servant's heart and always worked hard. He helped people in all circumstances. The most valuable lesson taught to his family was humility. His son saw, watched and heard through prayers Bill offered for others but never for himself. Although he never had many words to say, when he did speak it was with wisdom and humor.
Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine L. Barbee Cherry in 1981 and son, David W. Barbee in 1984.
Survivors include wife, Jackie L. Goedeke Barbee of Azle; son, Stephen D. Barbee; grandchildren, Jennifer, Sarah, Ashley, and Morgan; sister, Annie Florine Summersgill; several nieces, great nieces and nephews.
