His first marriage was to Florence Isabelle Robertson (adopted daughter of Webb Thomas and Helen Louise Clark) on 5 Nov 1902 in Spirit Lake, Dickinson, Iowa. They were the parents of Clarence Egbert Clump (b. 1905). Florence passed away in 1933, and on 28 Aug 1943 in Minnesota, he was remarried to Violet Mae Steele. He passed away on 5 Jul 1950 in the St. Olaf Hospital in Austin, Mower, Minnesota.
