Shirley Ann Kent Daniels, 70, of Port Saint Joe, FL went to be with the Lord Friday morning, Dec. 19, 2008. She was born in Jackson Co., FL on Jan. 18, 1938 to the late Alton and Annie Kent. She had been a resident of Port Saint Joe since 1960, was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Saint Joe.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ben, Marvin, and Wilton Kent, and three sisters, Leola Jones, Leoni Johnson, and Ada Burch.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Norris Daniels, her son, Lemond Daniels, her daughter, Katrina Etheridge, her grandchildren, Jarrod Wester and wife, Julie, Shanna Carnes and husband, Ben, and Forest Daniels, all of Port St. Joe, her four brothers, Noah Lambert Kent and wife, Annie Mae, of Chattahoochee, FL, Charles Kent of Mexico Beach, FL, Price Kent and wife, Betty, of Chattahoochee, and Al Kent and wife, Ruby, of Cottondale, FL, her sister, Zolena Kent of Marianna, FL, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, John and Wandis Scott, Nolan Daniels, Terry and Elaine Daniels, all of Marianna, and Vergil and Deanie Daniels of Blountstown, FL.
Funeral services for Mrs. Daniels will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at 2:00 PM EST at the First Baptist Church of Port Saint Joe with Rev. Jarrod Wester, her grandson, officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Cemetery. The casket will remain open one hour prior to services.
Asked to serve as pallbearers for the service are Mrs. Daniels' nephews.
Asked to serve as honorary pallbearers are the deacons of First Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, from 5 to 7 PM EST at the church.
Floral contributions are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church, Port Saint Joe.
