Charles Daniel Dietrich Sr.died dec 2,2008 at Holy Spirit Hospital.
Mr. Dietrich was born on Dec. 18, 1929, in Lykens, the son of the late Samuel Lincoln and Lydia Jane (Shiley) Dietrich.

Charles worked in coal mines, then at the Bethlehem Steel Mill, and later at D&H in Harrisburg, from which he retired. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He enjoyed painting, gardening and feeding the wild birds and ducks. He was always working at something, and was good at remodeling homes. He was a very good carpenter.

Charles is survived by his four daughters, Nancy L. Crumm of Marysville, Connie E. Yoder of Missouri, Thelma J. Yeager of Harrisburg and Darla R. Cashmore of Wisconsin; his two sons, Charles D. Dietrich Jr. of Halifax and Bill W. Dietrich of Duncannon; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, U.S. Army Pvt. David E. Dietrich, who died on Dec. 29, 2006.
